I started this week on Sunday with my last Florida run but returned home to more mild winter weather so I’ve continued running in shorts through this week. Just a few more days and I’ll have run all of January in shorts! Originally I was just hoping to finish out December in shorts, but I do NOT expect to get through February in shorts, though!
It was great to run with my club, Fast Tracks, today. I’ve been running solo for several weeks now and I enjoyed the company and conversation with Nilesh and Tracey this morning. And what a beautiful day it was. No wind, mild temperatures (for January), and a pretty sunrise.
I’m now consistently running over 30 miles per week and my daily runs are 5 or 6 miles long. In February I’ll add some long runs up to 15+ miles but I won’t hit my 20 milers until late March and early April. I do want to add in some hill work and do more consistent tempo runs, and I’ve got to get back to the YMCA for strength and cross training. So here’s the week in review:
Mon — 6.49 miles — 10:24 pace — very warm (70s); 20 min. deep water running (finally got in the pool!)
Tues — 6.21 miles — 10:18 pace — back home but in the low 50s
Wed — 6.35 miles — 10:55 pace — slow, easy run
Fri — 6.23 miles — 10:34 pace — mild, but very windy
Sat — 12.12 miles — 9:41 pace (it helps running with others!)
Total Miles — 36.4
