This was a good week, but kind of quirky, too. It was unusually mild at the beginning of the week and I ended up running in shorts and a long sleeve shirt — not the typical attire for running in December, for sure! By Saturday, though, it was in the 30s so I was back to tights, base layers, and mittens — at least for the first half of the run.

And besides picking up my overall distances, I also picked up speed. Here are my runs for this week:
Mon. — 5.34 miles — 10:21 average pace
Tues. — 5.09 miles — 10:49 average pace
Wed. — 5.00 miles — 10:05 average pace
Fri. — 1.53 miles — intervals on the indoor track at the Rocky Run YMCA following strength circuit — best pace 7:25 for a 100 meter interval
Sat. — 8.03 miles — 9:56 average pace — and this was on the Valley Forge River Trail so I was also looking out for rocks and muddy spots.
Maybe I will be able to break a 2:00 half marathon this coming year!

whoa great runs this week!! I see the sub 2 hours in 2012.
